S. H. Handicrafts

S. H. Handicrafts is situated right opposite the Block Office. It is a pretty quiet spot most of the time, which is nice for the kind of work we do. We deal with various handcrafted items, mostly things made by local artisans. It is not like a big factory where everything is the same. Each piece has its own little quirks and imperfections, which we think is actually a good thing. Our shop isn't very large, so things tend to get stacked up on shelves and in corners. You might have to move a few things to see everything we have. We don't have a big marketing budget or a polished showroom. It’s just a simple space where we keep our stock and talk to people who appreciate handmade goods. Sometimes we spend hours just organizing the inventory or talking to the craftsmen who bring in their work. It’s a slow pace of life here. We don't try to rush people into buying things. If you like something, you buy it. If not, that’s fine too. We’ve been at this location for quite some time, and the people at the Block Office are used to seeing us around. We aren't trying to be a high-end boutique. We just want to provide a place for these crafts to be sold. It’s a practical little business and we enjoy the daily routine of it. We just keep things simple.
