Harji Handicrafts

We are situated on Station Road in Kothiwal Nagar. Harji Handicrafts is right in the middle of all the noise. Being near the station means there is never a quiet moment. We have a lot of stuff piled up in the shop. It’s mostly wood and metal items that we bring in from the local makers. The space is a bit cramped because we keep getting new stock and don't always have room for it. We spend a lot of time moving boxes around to find what a customer is asking for. My brother and I run the place. We usually have tea delivered from the stall next door twice a day. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we never seem to find the time to clear everything out to do it. Customers are mostly people passing through on their way to the trains. We have some regulars who come from the nearby colonies too. It’s a dusty job, and we are always cleaning the glass on the display units. The front door sticks a bit when it’s raining, so you have to give it a good push. We don't have a computer here, we just use a paper bill book. It’s how we’ve always done it and it works fine for us. We stay open until the last train rush is over. Sometimes the lights flicker but we just ignore it. We like being part of the Station Road crowd.
