People know Sarai Tareen for the work we do here. It’s a busy part of Sambhal and honestly, it’s always a bit loud with all the carving and sanding going on. We started Hahandicraft because we knew how to handle the tools and the materials that come through this area. It isn't a fancy setup. We have our benches, our piles of raw materials, and the lights that sometimes flicker when too many machines are running at once. My hands are usually covered in some kind of dust by noon. It's just the way it is when you're making things from scratch. We spend most of the morning just sorting through what arrived the day before. Some pieces are good, some aren't, so we have to be careful. Customers come by the workshop and sometimes they have to wait because we’re in the middle of a big batch. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. You just walk in and see us working. The floors are rarely clean for more than an hour. It’s hard to keep up with the mess when you're focused on the actual items. We just try to get the orders done and out the door so we can start on the next one. It’s a simple life here in Sambhal, just keeping our heads down and making sure the work is solid. That’s pretty much the whole story of this place.
