About Ganga Handicrafts – Art & Craft in Moradabad
We are over on Station Road, right across from the Maharaja Hotel. It's a busy part of town with all the people coming from the trains. We've got a lot of items packed into a small space. It's mostly wood and some other bits and pieces we find. It's not organized like those big shops in the city. You might have to move a few boxes to see everything. I started Ganga Handicrafts because I liked working with my hands. My nephew helps out when he isn't at school. We spend a lot of time sanding things down and making sure they look right before we put them out. The shop smells like sawdust and old varnish most days. Sometimes the rain leaks a bit near the back door, but we put a bucket there and it’s fine. We get all sorts of people walking in because of the hotel across the street. Most just want to look around and that's okay with us. We aren't here to push anyone into buying anything. If you like something, you take it. If not, we still have a good talk. It’s a simple life. We don't have a website or anything fancy. Just the shop on the road. We stay busy with the local crafts and hope people appreciate the effort we put in. It's just us doing what we know best.
