About Ganga Handicrafts – Art & Craft in Moradabad
We are based in Village Mangupura. It’s a quiet place, quite different from the big cities. Ganga Handicrafts isn't a factory; it’s more of a place where we gather to work. Most of the people working here are from the village itself. We use our hands for almost everything. The air is clean, and we have plenty of space around us, which is nice. Our workshop is a simple building with big windows to let in the sunlight. We don't have a lot of modern equipment. We prefer using the tools our parents used. It takes longer to make things this way, but we think it’s worth it. Sometimes the cows wander near the door or the kids from the village come to watch us work. We don't have a formal showroom. If someone wants to see what we make, they just come to the village and ask for us. We keep our finished items on wooden shelves until they are ready to be sent away. There is no rush here. We work when there is work to do, and we take breaks when the sun is too hot. Life in Mangupura is steady. We don't use much electricity, mostly just for a few lights in the evening. We are just simple people making things we know how to make. It’s a good way to live, staying close to home and working with our hands while the birds chirp outside.
