Designers Collection

We are out here on 7th K.M. Kanth Road. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city center, but it’s quieter here which is nice for working. Designers Collection has been at this location for a good bit of time now. We work on a lot of different designs, mostly things for the home or for people to use in their daily lives. The workshop is right behind the main room. You can hear the machines running most of the afternoon. We have stacks of fabric and different materials everywhere. It’s not a showroom where everything is polished and perfect. It’s a workspace. Sometimes the roof leaks a little when it rains hard, so we have to move the tables around. We started small, just doing bits and pieces for local folks, but now we send things much further away. My brother helps with the shipping and I handle the people who come in to ask questions. We don’t have a big staff, just a few people who have been with us for years. We usually have lunch together in the back. The road outside is busy with people heading out of town. We just keep our heads down and finish the orders as they come. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes Sundays too if there's a big pile of work left over. We keep an old radio playing in the corner to pass the time while we work on the orders.
