Huma Exports is based out of Pasha Colony. We are situated near the Mobeen Marble shop, right by the bypass road. Being near the bypass is actually pretty handy because the transport trucks don't have to navigate the narrow city streets to get to us. The downside is the noise and the constant dust from the marble cutting next door. We spend a lot of time wiping down our desks and the boxes. It’s a small operation here at Huma Exports. There are only a few of us who handle everything from the paperwork to the actual loading. We don't have a big HR department or a marketing team. Most of our day is spent on the phone or checking emails to see where the containers are. Sometimes the shipments get delayed at the port, and we have to spend hours trying to track them down. It can be frustrating, but that’s just the nature of the export business. Our office is just a room with some old computers and a lot of filing cabinets. We’ve been in Pasha Colony for a while now and we know the other business owners on the block. We usually grab lunch from the local stalls nearby. We just focus on getting the goods from point A to point B without any unnecessary drama. It’s a lot of manual tracking and staying on top of the details. We just keep our heads down and get the work done.
