Brass World

Brass World is our place over in Barwalan. It’s a neighborhood where you can hear the sound of metal being worked on if you walk down the right streets. We’ve been here for quite a while, and the shop is filled with the smell of metal and the heat from the tools. It’s a gritty kind of job, and we usually go home with dirty hands and tired backs. We don't have an office with air conditioning or anything like that; we just have the workshop floor. We work with brass in all sorts of ways, mostly making parts or decorative bits that people need for their own projects. It’s not a fancy operation. The floors are concrete and the walls are covered in tools that have been there for twenty years. We don’t spend much time talking about our values or anything like that—we just focus on making sure the brass is cut right and polished enough to look decent. Sometimes the neighbors come by to borrow a tool or just to see what we’re making. It’s a tight-knit area and we like it that way. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to make good brass items and keep the business running for another year. It’s what we do, and we’re used to the noise and the heat by now. Even when things get hectic, we just keep our heads down and finish the orders we have on the bench. We hope to stay right here in Barwalan for many more years to come.
