Habib Handicraft

Habib Handicraft is located in Baradari, specifically in Kucha Darziyan. If you know the old city, you know it is a maze of narrow lanes. Our shop is one of those places where you have to duck your head a bit to get through the door. We have been here for generations. The walls are lined with all sorts of handmade items. It smells like old wood and maybe some incense. We don't have air conditioning, just a small window that lets in a little bit of light and noise from the street. Kucha Darziyan is always full of people, so there is never a quiet moment. We sit on the floor mostly while we work on the crafts. It is how my father did it and how his father did it before him. We don't use fancy machines. Just basic tools and our hands. Some days we don't sell anything, and other days it is busy. We don't have a catalog or a price list printed out. We just know the value of our work. The tea here is good because the shop next door makes it strong. We spend our days talking to neighbors and working on our latest pieces.
