Lijjat Mughlai Food Uzefa Fry Point is tucked away in Brush Wali Gali, which is in the Kaiser Ganj area of Meerut. The easiest way to find us is to get to Delhi Road and look for Mayur Hotel, then we are just nearby in the lane. Kaiser Ganj is an old part of the city and the streets are narrow and usually very crowded. Our shop is a busy little place where we do a lot of frying and cooking throughout the day and evening. You can usually smell the food before you even see the sign for the shop. It’s a lot of manual work, standing over the heat and making sure everything is cooked the way it should be. We have been in this lane for a long time, and we know most of the people who live and work around here. It isn't a fancy restaurant with air conditioning and soft chairs; it’s more of a local spot where the focus is just on the food itself. The noise of the city is always in the background, with scooters and carts going through the gali. We open up and start the fires early because there is a lot of prep that goes into Mughlai food. It’s a simple life of cooking and serving the locals who walk by. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
