Vishwamanava High School

If you head out to Kommerahalli in the Mandya area, you will find Vishwamanava High School. It sits right in the heart of the village. Most of the kids who come here live within walking distance or take a short ride from the nearby farms. We have several classrooms spread across the property. It’s a simple brick building that has stood here for quite a long time. Life here is pretty slow compared to the big cities. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too high. There is a large open space out front where everyone gathers before the day starts. We don't have any high-tech gadgets or anything like that. We just use chalkboards and books. The teachers are mostly local people who have been with us for years. We spend our time making sure the students attend their classes and do their work. In the afternoons, you can hear the kids playing outside before they head home to help their families. Mandya is a farming region, so we understand the local lifestyle well. The school is a basic part of the community here in Kommerahalli. We handle the paperwork in a small room near the entrance. It’s a bit cluttered with folders and registers, but we know where everything is. We just focus on keeping the doors open and the classes running every single day for everyone.
