St John High School

St John High School is located on the National Academy Campus. We are in a place called Athur, which is part of Virajpet Taluk. If you know the Coorg area, you know it is very green and often quite rainy. Our school is specifically in Gonikoppal, Madikeri. It is a beautiful part of the country, though we don't think about it much because we are busy. We have students coming in from all the nearby hills and plantations. The campus is quite large because we share it with the academy. You can see kids running across the grass between classes. We have basic classrooms with wooden benches that have been used by many generations of children. The air here is fresh, which is nice for the students. We focus on the regular subjects like science and history. The teachers often have to walk a bit to get to school, but they are used to it. We don't have a lot of high-tech gadgets. Most of our teaching is done face-to-face with a book and a pen. During the monsoon, everything gets a bit muddy, but the kids still show up with their umbrellas. It is a sturdy school that has been a part of this community for a long time. People around here trust us because they know we are just hardworking locals like them. We don't try to be anything we are not. It is just a school in the heart of Coorg.
