The Mayfair Bar

You can find us tucked inside The Regent Palms Hotel right over by Kargil Park. It’s a busy little area in Mandi, especially with Indira Market and Seri Bazar so close by. People finish their shopping and come in here to get out of the sun for a bit. The Mayfair Bar isn’t a very big place, but it’s got enough room for the regulars who show up every evening. We’ve got the old wooden counters and stools that have seen better days, but they do the job. You can hear the noise from the market outside if the door stays open too long—people shouting and bikes zooming past. It’s a bit of a walk up if you’re coming from the main road, but most folks know the way. We keep the lights low and the drinks ready. The guys behind the bar have been around for years, so they know most of the people who walk through the door by name. It’s not one of those fancy lounges you’d find in a bigger city; it’s just a local spot where you can sit down and forget about the crowd outside for an hour or two. Sometimes the music is a bit loud, and sometimes the snacks take a minute to come out, but nobody is usually in a rush. It’s just a comfortable corner in a busy part of Mandi.
