Anmol Bhojnalaya

We are located about 5 kilometers outside of Mandi on the Manali Road. It is a good spot for people driving through, especially those headed up towards the mountains. The air is a bit different out here than in the middle of town. We don’t have any fancy menus or waiter uniforms. People just come in, sit down, and eat whatever is ready in the kitchen. It gets busy during the lunch hour when the trucks and travelers stop by. Sometimes the stove acts up or we run out of a particular vegetable, but that’s just part of running a bhojnalaya. The place is functional and the tables are sturdy enough. We keep the water jugs filled and try to make sure everyone leaves with a full stomach. It’s a simple setup we’ve got going. You can see the road clearly from the front, and there’s usually some dust from the passing vehicles. We’ve been here for a while now, and we know many of the drivers who pass this way regularly. It’s not a quiet job, but we like the pace of it. If you’re looking for a quick bite while traveling, this is where we are. We don't do much advertising, mostly just people seeing the sign from the road and pulling over. The kitchen smells like onions and spices most of the day. We have a couple of large pots that are always on the fire. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to use torches to keep going, but we never stop serving food. It's a busy life.
