You can find us over at Shop No. 9 in the Urania Sirsa Mandi. That’s where Sirsa Unique Farmer Producer Company Limited does most of its business. Being in the Mandi means it’s always loud and there’s always something happening right outside the door. We set up here because it’s where everyone comes. It’s not a polished office with air conditioning that works all the time, but it works for us. We spend our mornings drinking tea and getting the day started before the rush hits. There are always trucks moving and people shouting, so it’s a lively place to be. We’re just a group of people trying to make things work for the farmers around here. We don’t have any big speeches or slogans. We just open up the shop and see who needs help. Sometimes the dust from the Mandi gets everywhere, and we’re constantly cleaning off the desks. It’s just the way it goes when you’re right in the middle of it all in Sirsa. We know most of the people who walk past our door. It’s a tight-knit community and we like being part of it. We don't try to be something we're not. We just do the work, keep the records straight, and try to be fair with everyone who stops by Shop No. 9. It’s a simple life, but it keeps us busy and we wouldn't have it any other way, really.
