Shashti Pre-School

Shashti Pre-School is over at No:1 in the Sri Jeevika Complex. We are in Salaimuthu Nagar, which is part of the Ellis Nagar area in Madurai. It’s a busy little spot, especially in the mornings when parents are dropping off their toddlers before heading to work. The complex has other businesses too, so there is always people coming and going. Inside the school, things are usually a bit messy with toys and drawings everywhere, but that is what you expect with small children. We have several small rooms where the kids do their activities and have their snacks. The teachers here are used to the noise and the occasional crying, and they just get on with the day. Madurai is quite hot, so we try to keep the rooms as cool as we can for the little ones. It’s a very local feel here; most of the families live within walking distance or just a short drive away. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just us and the kids, learning their ABCs and playing games. Some days are smoother than others, but we just take it as it comes. You might see some scuff marks on the walls or a pile of shoes by the door, because that is just the reality of running a pre-school in a busy part of town. It is a plain place, but it works for us and the families here.
