Christ The King Matriculation School

Christ The King Matriculation School has been sitting here in the Income Tax Colony area of Vilangudi for quite some time now. If you walk down the street in Madurai during the early morning, you will see the gates open and the staff trickling in before the heat really kicks in for the day. It is just a regular school building with classrooms that have seen a lot of students come and go over the years. We spend a lot of our time making sure the benches are straight and the blackboards are clean enough for the next lesson. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, which is nice for the kids when they are trying to focus on their books. Sometimes the fans in the hallway rattle a bit, but we just get the local handyman to take a look when he is free. Most of the people working here live just a few streets away, so it feels more like a neighborhood spot than anything fancy. We have a small area where the children eat their lunch, and you can usually hear the clinking of tiffin boxes around noon. It’s a simple routine we have going on here. Nothing too complicated or grand, just a place where the bells ring on time and the children learn their lessons day after day. We keep the place tidy as much as we can, though the dust from the road always finds a way in.
