Saracens Matriculation Higher Secondary School. We are located right on Sivagangai Road in Madurai. It’s a busy area with a lot of traffic passing by No 51 every single day. You can hear the buses and horns from the classrooms, but the kids are used to it by now. We’ve got students from all over the local neighborhoods coming here for their schooling. The building has been here for years, and it shows a bit of age, but it’s sturdy. We have classes from the younger ones all the way up to higher secondary. The mornings are usually a bit chaotic with parents dropping off their children on scooters and cycles. Our teachers are mostly local people who have been with us for a long time. They know the names of almost every student in the corridor. We don't have a massive playground, but there is enough space for the kids to run around during the break. The walls are covered with some old charts and student drawings. It’s a typical Madurai school where everyone knows everyone else. We focus on getting through the syllabus and making sure the kids pass their exams. There’s no big fancy canteen, just a small space for lunch. It’s a practical place for learning. We try to keep the gates closed during school hours to keep the noise from the road out, though it never quite works.
