Tkm Senguthar Uravinmurai High School

Our school sits right on 1A Kamala Nagar in the Tallakulam area of Madurai. Tkm Senguthar Uravinmurai High School has been a part of this community for a long time. If you walk by in the morning, you’ll see the older students rushing in before the gate shuts. Madurai gets really hot, so we try to keep the classrooms as airy as possible with the big windows we have. Most of the staff have been working here for a decade or more, and they’ve seen siblings from the same families grow up and move on. Since it is a high school, things are a bit more serious than at a primary school, but there’s still plenty of noise during the lunch breaks. Those heavy wooden benches have been around forever and the blackboards still get a lot of use every day. The school isn't trying to be something it’s not. Local kids come here to get their high school years finished without having to travel too far into the main city traffic. Parents often stop by the office to chat about how their kids are doing or to pay the fees. Day by day, we just keep the place running. The bells ring, the lessons happen, and everyone heads home when the sun starts to go down a bit. It is a steady, familiar place for everyone living around Tallakulam.
