Oriental Public Higher Secondary School

You can find us at number 66 on P.T. Rajan Road over in the Narimedu part of Madurai. It’s a well-known street in this city and we’ve been part of this neighborhood for a very long time. The school handles higher secondary levels, so the students are a bit more grown up and independent. We have a decent-sized gate and a building that has stood through many hot summers and rainy seasons. Inside, it's mostly the sound of chalk on boards and kids chatting in the hallways between their classes. We don't have a huge marketing team or any corporate people running things. It’s just us teachers and the office staff managing the daily routine. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we just open the big windows to let some air in. The routine is the same every week without much change. We have our morning assembly and then it is straight to the books until the end of the day. Parents in the Narimedu area know us well because many of them actually went to this same school themselves decades ago. It’s a local institution that people trust. We don't try to be something we aren't, like a high-end private academy. It's just a place for studying, taking tests, and getting through the school year together. The playground isn't massive but it’s enough for a quick game of cricket during the break.
