Narayana Residential School

We are located over at No 9 J on Jawahar First Street. If you know S S Colony in Madurai, then you know it’s a fairly busy part of town. Our building sits right there among the other houses and shops. Since this is a residential school, there’s always someone around, even late at night or early on Sunday mornings. Madurai is known for being hot, and our street is no exception. We try to keep the halls cool, but on some days, the heat just settles in. The students have their own routine of waking up, eating, and heading to their classes. It’s a lot of work to manage the kitchen and the dorms, but we’ve been doing it for a while now. You’ll often see parents dropping off supplies or visiting on the weekends. The street outside can get a bit cramped with scooters and cars, especially during peak hours. We try to keep our gate area clear. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of desks and bunk beds. It’s a very functional space without any unnecessary decorations. We like it that way because it makes it easier to clean and maintain. The staff here is mostly local people from around the 625016 zip code area. We just go about our business and try to make sure the kids have what they need for the day. It’s a lot of responsibility looking after so many people, but we’ve got a system that works for us, even if it gets a bit hectic sometimes.
