Nanak Public School Run By Sardar Heera Singh Trust

Nanak Public School is run by the Sardar Heera Singh Trust and sits at No 1/75 on Natham Road in Madurai. Being on Natham Road means there is a lot of traffic passing by all the time, especially with the buses and cars heading into the city. The school has been here for a while, and the building shows its age in some spots, but it serves its purpose. We have a gate where the kids come in every morning, and a small yard where they stand for the national anthem. The trust handles the big decisions, but on a daily basis, it is just us teachers and the office staff trying to keep things moving. Madurai can be incredibly hot, so the classrooms are usually quite stuffy by the afternoon. We try to keep the students focused on their lessons despite the heat and the noise from the road. We have a few old trees on the property that provide a little bit of shade, which is where everyone likes to hang out during the lunch break. Our desks are the standard wooden kind, and the walls are covered with charts and drawings made by the students. We don't have any high-tech gadgets or modern facilities. It is just a straightforward school where we do our best to teach the kids what they need to know. At the end of the day, we lock the gates and wait for the traffic to thin out.
