Madurai Residency Hotel.

The hotel is tucked away on Alagaradi 2nd Street here in Madurai. It is a busy part of town, so you will hear the motorbikes and the general city noise most of the day. We have been at this address, number 37, for a while now. The building is just a normal place where travelers end up when they need to rest for a night or two. It isn't fancy, but it gets the job done for anyone passing through. Madurai is always hot, so the fans and the shade in the lobby are what people look for first when they walk in. Most of our staff live nearby, so they know the shortcuts to the temple and where the good tea stalls are located. Sometimes the street gets a bit crowded with parked scooters, especially during the peak hours in the morning, but that is just how life is in this neighborhood. We spend most of the early hours cleaning up the rooms and getting things ready for whoever might show up next. There is a small desk where someone is usually sitting to help out. If you walk down the street, you will see a lot of other local shops and houses mixed together. It is just a regular spot in a regular part of the city. We do not have big signs everywhere, just the one outside the door. People find us mostly because they know the area.
