M S R Higher Secondary School sits at number 208 on the Kollam Thirumangalam Road. We are right in Sathanguudi, which is a place that sees a lot of traffic passing through on the main road. Because we are on such a busy route, we always have to keep an eye on the students when they are arriving or leaving. The building itself is quite straightforward, nothing that would make you stop and stare, but it gets the job done. We have been here for a good while, and most people in the local area recognize the gate. I have worked here for some time now, and I’ve seen many kids grow up and move on. The classrooms are basic but they stay cool enough during the summer months. We don't have any big corporate goals or mission statements pinned to the walls. We just try to get through the syllabus and help the students understand their lessons. It’s a practical place. The sounds of the trucks and buses on the road are just part of the background noise for us now. Sometimes a parent will drop by just to chat about how their child is doing, and we take the time for that. It’s important to stay connected with the families in Sathanguudi. We are just a local school trying to do right by the kids who come through our doors every morning.
