Vardhman Rice Mills

Over on Chappar Road in Kila Raipur, you will find Vardhman Rice Mills. This area is known for a lot of things, but for us, it’s just where we work every day. The mill is a busy place, especially when the season is in full swing. We have several large sheds where we keep everything out of the weather. Chappar Road isn't the smoothest road, and the trucks rattle quite a bit when they come in. We’ve got the old machinery running most of the time, and the sound becomes like a hum you don't even notice after a while. At Vardhman Rice Mills, we don't have anyone in a suit or anyone talking about big business plans. We are just local people who know how to handle grain. Sometimes the work is slow and we spend our time cleaning the yard or mending the bags. Other times, it’s so busy we barely have time to sit down for tea. Kila Raipur is a good community and we’ve been here long enough to know most of the people who pass by. The office is just a small corner with a desk that’s seen better days. We don't need anything fancy to do our jobs. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay productive. It’s a simple, honest business. We don't make any big promises, we just show up and do the milling. That’s the way it is here on Chappar Road.
