U Valuer Architecture

We run U Valuer Architecture out of a space in Muktai Apartment, which is over in the Shaniwar Peth area of Shivaji Nagar. It’s an old part of town with a lot of character, and we like being here. The office is at 187/2A, and it’s usually covered in blueprints, sketches, and measuring tapes. We spend a lot of time drawing and looking at site plans. Being an architect sounds fancy, but most of the time it’s just worrying about where a pipe goes or if a wall is in the right place. We deal with the local building rules and try to make sure everything we design is actually doable. It’s a lot of back and forth with contractors and sometimes things don’t go according to plan. We aren't a huge firm with dozens of people; it’s just a small team of us working together. We’ve been in Shaniwar Peth for a bit now and we know the streets pretty well. Our desks are always messy because we have so many different projects happening at once. Sometimes we spend the whole day arguing over a small detail in a floor plan. We don't have a polished showroom, just a working office where we drink too much tea and try to get the designs finished on time. It’s honest work and we enjoy seeing things get built. It takes a lot of patience to get everything right.
