Taneja Amrita Kapoor Architect

Taneja Amrita Kapoor Architect operates out of 332-L/A in Model Town. It’s a quiet enough spot most days, though the street gets a bit busy when people are coming home from work. We spend a lot of time sitting at the desks here surrounded by paper and some old rolls of drawings that probably should have been filed away months ago. There is usually a pot of tea going in the back. The space isn't fancy or anything, just some tables and chairs and enough light to see what we are doing on the computer screens. Most of the work involves sketching out ideas for local buildings and trying to make sense of all the different rules about where walls can go. People sometimes just drop by to ask a quick question about a renovation or a new gate. Model Town is a good place for an office because everyone knows where it is. We have been here for a while now. The walls are mostly white but covered in calendars and notes pinned up everywhere so we don’t forget the site visits. It is just a normal office where we get through the daily tasks. Sometimes the internet is slow and we just wait it out. It is not like the big corporate places you see in movies. It is just us here, working through the pile of drawings and making sure everything is lined up right for the next project.
