A. T. I. Road is always buzzing with people and vehicles. Our shop, Sahils World, is right along that stretch. It’s a general kind of store where we keep a bit of everything. You might find stationery in one corner and some household items in another. It’s not a massive showroom, just a decent-sized shop where we try to make use of every inch of wall space. We’ve got hooks hanging from the ceiling with plastic buckets and bags. It makes the place look a bit like a jungle sometimes. I’ve lived around here for a long time so I know most of the people who walk past. Some just wave through the window and others come in to see what's new. We don't have any big marketing plans or fancy displays. We just put the items on the shelf and hope people find what they need. The morning sun comes right into the shop which makes it bright but also a bit hot. I spend a lot of time dusting the shelves because the road outside brings in a lot of grit. It’s a never-ending task. Some days are slow and I just sit on the stool and watch the traffic go by. Other days it’s so busy I don't even have time to drink my tea before it gets cold. That's just the life of a shopkeeper on a main road. We keep it simple and stay open until late.
