It’s a busy spot here at Bharat Nagar Bharat Nagar Chowk. We’ve been at this Kochar Market Road address for a while now. The shop at number 14 isn't huge but it fits what we need for the work we do. Most days start early, usually cleaning the dust off the counters before people start dropping by with their cracked screens or batteries that won't charge. It gets loud outside with all the traffic coming through the chowk throughout the day. Sometimes the tea guy comes by twice if it’s a slow morning and we have time to chat. We spend a lot of time hunched over small parts and tiny screws that are easy to lose if you aren't careful. People walk in from the market nearby, asking how long a fix will take. We try to be honest about the time, even if the answer isn't what they want to hear. The floor needs a sweep pretty much every few hours because of the foot traffic. It’s just how it goes here in this part of town. We have our regular tools and the same stools we’ve sat on for years. It’s a bit cramped when three or four people are waiting at once, but we make it work. The sun hits the front window pretty hard in the afternoon, making it a bit warm inside. We just keep the fan going and stay busy with the work on the bench. It is just a normal day.
