Raikot Rice & General Mills

Raikot Rice & General Mills is situated on Tajpur Road. We are right in the village of Tajpur, near the main Tajpur Chowk in Ludhiana district. It’s a busy area for agriculture. Our mill handles a lot of grain throughout the year. It’s not a quiet place. There is always the sound of the motors running and the workers moving bags around. We’ve been part of this community for a long time. People around here know us as just the local rice mill. We don't have a fancy corporate office in the city. Our office is just a small brick building next to the main mill floor. It’s full of samples and old registers. We don’t use any complicated software to run things. We just keep track of everything by hand mostly. The roads around the chowk can get really congested during the peak season. We just deal with it. It’s a lot of physical labor and long hours during the harvest. We don't have any mission statements or big goals. We just want to process the grain and keep the business running for the next generation. My son is learning the ropes now. We don't do anything for show. If you come by, you’ll see us working. We aren't hard to find if you are near the village. Just look for the big chimneys. It is hard work, but it’s ours.
