Radha Shawls

Our place, Radha Shawls, is located at Bx-223 in Mochpura Bazar. If you know the area, you know it’s a maze of narrow streets and shops. It gets very busy during the festival seasons. We’ve been in this same spot for many years. The shop is filled with stacks of shawls, and sometimes it’s hard to move around when we get new stock in. We don't have a website or any of that modern stuff. People just know we are here. Most of our customers are locals or traders who have been buying from us for a generation. We spend a lot of time folding and unfolding fabric to show people the patterns. The lighting inside isn't the best, but we've gotten used to it. We usually keep the front door open to catch a breeze, though it mostly just brings in the noise from the market. It’s a family-run kind of thing. My cousin helps out when things get busy, and we take turns going for lunch. We don't have any big goals of becoming a famous brand. We just like the fabrics and the daily interactions with people in the bazaar. Some days are slow, and we just sit and talk, while other days we don't have a minute to breathe. That’s just the way it is in Mochpura Bazar. We keep things simple and try to be fair with everyone who walks through the door. It’s a bit dusty, but it’s our shop.
