Wadhwan Belt & Watch

We've been at 2 K V Compound in the Housing Board Colony area for quite a while now. Most people around Ghumar Mandi Chowk know our spot for fixing up watches and getting new belts. It’s just a small shop, nothing too fancy. My dad started things here, and I've just kept it going. We spend most of the day hunched over small gears or fitting leather straps. It gets dusty sometimes because the road is busy right outside the door. If you walk past the chowk, you'll see the sign. Some days are slow, especially when it rains and nobody wants to come out to the colony. We have a lot of regular faces who stop by just to chat or get a battery changed. Sometimes the tools get misplaced on the bench, but we usually find them under a pile of watch parts. It’s a quiet life here in the compound. We try to keep the shop open even when the power goes out, which happens more than we'd like. There’s a tea stall nearby where I grab a cup every afternoon. We don't have a big website or anything. People just find us by walking through the neighborhood or asking their neighbors. It’s just how things work around Ghumar Mandi. We’ve seen the colony change over the years, with new buildings going up, but our little corner stays pretty much the same. It’s a bit cramped inside with all the boxes, but it’s home to us.
