Jeet Bag House

If you ever pass through Jamalpur Chowk, you've probably seen Jeet Bag House. We are right there where all the traffic meets. It’s a very busy spot, which is good for business but very dusty. I spend half my morning just wiping down the bags so they look decent. We sell everything from little purses to those big heavy-duty bags people use for moving. Because we are at the chowk, we get a lot of people who are just passing through town. They might have a broken strap or need an extra bag for their shopping. We keep the shop open late because the intersection stays active until night. It’s just me and a helper most of the time. We don't have any fancy decorations. It's just bags everywhere you look—on the floor, on the walls, and hanging from the rafters. Sometimes it’s hard to find a specific color someone wants, but we eventually dig it out of the pile. The noise from the horns is constant, but you stop hearing it after a few years. We’ve been here a long time, and the building is getting a bit old. We had to fix the roof last monsoon because of a bad leak. It’s not the most beautiful shop, but we have what people need. We don't try to be anything we aren't. Just a bag shop at a busy corner where people stop for a minute before heading on to wherever they are going.
