R. L. Foods

We are located out in the village of Ubhewal. R. L. Foods has its roots right here in this local community. It’s a different kind of pace than the city, which is something we actually like. Most of our work involves handling food products and making sure everything is ready for where it needs to go next. There are days when the weather makes things difficult, but that’s just part of being in a village. We have a small group of people from around here who help us out. We don’t have a big fancy office with air conditioning and all that stuff. It’s a working space where things get done. You can usually find someone around the site from early in the morning until the sun goes down. We’ve lived in Ubhewal for a long time, so we know most of the families nearby. The work isn't always glamorous, and it can be physically tiring some days. We just focus on what’s right in front of us. If a machine breaks down, we fix it ourselves if we can. It’s a very hands-on kind of business. We don't spend a lot of time on the computer unless we really have to. We’d rather be out back seeing to the stock and checking things over. It’s a simple life and a simple business, and that’s plenty for us. We’re just glad to be working in our own village every day.
