Located on Main Tibba Road in the New Preet Nagar area, our shop is usually a hub of small talk and phone repairs. Being on such a busy road means there is always dust coming in from the open door. We have Omkar Telecom printed on a simple board outside. Inside, it’s mostly just shelves filled with batteries, headphones, and those little SIM card adapters that everyone loses. I started this place a while back and the neighborhood has changed a lot since then. New Preet Nagar used to be quieter, but now there are shops everywhere. Most of the work involves fixing charging ports or helping someone understand why their data isn't working. I don't use a computer for the accounts, just a pen and a notebook that sits by the cash box. Sentence lengths vary because sometimes I'm in a hurry and sometimes I'm not. The street out front is always dug up for some pipe or another, which makes it hard for people to park their bikes. But they still come in, usually with a phone that has seen better days. We don't have any air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that wobbles a bit. It’s a honest way to make a living, just helping people stay connected. I usually stay open late because that’s when the workers are coming home and need their phones topped up. It's just a regular part of life here.
