Natureway Canteen

Our canteen is tucked away in Chander Nagar at B-34/1560. We are quite close to the Badi Puli, which is a good landmark for people trying to find us. It’s a busy little corner of Ludhiana. I wake up early to start the kitchen. There is always a lot of chopping and cleaning to do before the first customer arrives. We serve basic meals and snacks. It’s the kind of food you eat every day without getting tired of it. The benches are a bit old but they are sturdy enough for a quick meal. We get a lot of workers and students coming through. It gets loud during lunch hour with everyone talking at once. The steam from the pots makes the windows foggy in the winter months. I’ve been running this place for a few years now. My brother helps with the cooking and I handle the front and the billing. We don't have a big menu, just what we can make fresh that morning. Sometimes we run out of the special dish by one o'clock. People get a bit disappointed but they usually just order the dal instead. Chander Nagar has changed a lot, but this spot feels the same to me. We keep the tea hot and the water cold. That’s about it really. It’s just a place to sit and have a quick bite. We try to keep the prices fair for everyone. The fan wobbles a bit on high speed.
