We set up shop here in Dugri Bhai Himmat Singh Nagar a long time ago. We’re pretty close to the GNE College Road, so there’s always students and teachers moving about nearby which keeps the street lively. Most of our work is just talking to people about land and houses in this specific part of Ludhiana. It’s not a fancy job, mostly just keeping our ears to the ground to see what’s available for rent or purchase. People often walk in off the street with all kinds of questions about property taxes or who owns that old plot down the road. We try to help out even if it’s not making us any money that day. The office is small and usually has a few people sitting around chatting about the local news or the weather. We don't have those big shiny signs you see in the city center. It’s more about knowing the families and the history of the neighborhood than anything else. Sometimes we drive out to see a piece of land that’s mostly just weeds and dirt, trying to imagine where a house would actually go. It’s a slow process getting everything signed and moved through the various offices, but that’s normal here. We’ve lived around here forever, so we know which streets get flooded when it rains and which ones are quiet at night. It’s just us doing our thing every day, trying to match the right person with the right spot.
