Muskan Gift Shop

If you find yourself walking down Samrala Road and pass by number 4894, you will see Muskan Gift Shop. It is a small place, packed from the floor to the ceiling with all sorts of things. We have toys, some picture frames, and lots of colorful wrapping paper. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes, especially around the holidays when everyone is in a rush. I try to keep it organized, but when a group of kids comes in, everything gets moved around. We’ve been here for a while and the shop has seen better days, but it’s our spot. People come in looking for something for a birthday or a wedding. Sometimes they don't even know what they want, so they just walk around for twenty minutes looking at everything. We don't mind. The traffic on Samrala Road is always loud, so we usually have a small fan going to drown it out. The door sticks a little when it's humid, so you have to give it a good push to get inside. We have a few shelves of cards that have been there too long, but eventually, someone buys them. It’s just me and one other person most days. We don't have a computer system, we just write everything down in a notebook. It works for us. It’s a simple shop for simple needs, nothing more than that. We just enjoy the daily visitors and the neighborhood chatter.
