Malik Mobile Repairs

Our shop is down in Field Ganj, right in the middle of the old Sabzi Mandi area. It is always loud outside with the vegetable sellers yelling and the rickshaws trying to get through the narrow lanes. Inside, it is a bit quieter but we have stuff piled up on all the counters. We mostly deal with broken screens and phones that won't turn on after someone dropped them in water. It is tedious work because the screws are so tiny and you can easily lose them if you aren't careful. My eyes usually hurt by the end of the day from looking at those small circuit boards under the lamp. We have a lot of people coming in upset because they lost their photos or their phone is their whole life. We just try to see what can be fixed and what is a lost cause. The floor is often covered in bits of glass from the old screens we take off. It isn't a huge place, just enough room for a couple of stools and the workbenches. Sometimes the power cuts off and we have to wait for the generator to kick in so we can see what we are doing. We keep a lot of spare parts in the drawers, though finding the right one can take a minute when it gets messy. It is a simple business in a very crowded part of town.
