Mehtas Mobile

Mehtas Mobile is based over on Bhulabhai Desai Road 36 in the Model Gram area. It’s a pretty straightforward setup we have here. We sell mobile phones and take care of the basic problems people have with them. My father started this a long time ago and I just kept it going. We aren't looking to become some giant chain, just serving the people in the neighborhood is enough for us. The shop has a few glass cases with some of the newer models and some cables and plugs. We spend a lot of time on the workbench in the back trying to fix small parts. It’s steady work. Some days it feels like everyone in Model Gram has a broken screen at the same time. We try to be honest about what can be fixed and what’s a waste of money. People appreciate that. We don’t have any slick sales talk. If a phone is old and dying, we tell you. We see a lot of students from nearby coming in for cheap earphones. The morning starts early for us, usually around nine, and we don't close until late. It's just a regular local business. We have a small fan that keeps us cool in the summer, and we know most of the regulars by their first names. It’s just how we do things here. Every day is pretty much the same.
