If you go down Dhuri Line, you’ll eventually find us on RK Vaidya Marg. It’s a small shop, maybe smaller than most people expect when they first hear the name. I’ve been sitting in this same spot for many years now. I spend my time fixing a lot of broken screens and sticky buttons on phones. My eyes get quite tired from looking at those tiny parts and circuits all day long. The shop gets a lot of dust from the road traffic, so I’m always wiping down the glass display cases with a cloth. People come in with all kinds of problems with their mobile phones. Some I can fix in a few minutes, some are just too old and broken. I try to tell them honestly if it’s worth spending the money on a repair. We also sell SIM cards and do the small recharges for the people living in the neighborhood. It’s a quiet life for the most part. The tea shop next door is where I go when I need a five-minute break. RK Vaidya Marg is always moving, with people going to work or heading to the market nearby. I see the same faces every morning when I open up. Some stop to say hello, while others just give a quick nod. The shelves are a bit cluttered with old phone cases and empty boxes. I should probably clear them out one day, but they’ve been there so long I barely notice them. It's just me here.
