Knit Aid Private Limited is tucked away on Street Number 6 in Guru Arjan Dev Nagar. If you are near Samrala Chowk, you are pretty close to our door at 5689/1. It’s a busy neighborhood and we’ve been part of it for a good while. We do knitting related work, which keeps us on our toes. The space is a bit cramped sometimes with all the machinery and materials, but we manage just fine. It’s a local operation, nothing corporate about it. You’ll usually find someone drinking tea and talking about the day’s schedule near the front. We don’t have a marketing department to write these things, so it’s just me typing this out. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but the machines are what really matter to us. Working in Ludhiana means we are always around other textile folks. It’s a competitive spot but we just keep our heads down and do the work. The traffic at the chowk can be a nightmare during rush hour, so we try to get our shipping done early. It’s not a glamorous life, just honest work with needles and yarn. We’ve seen many businesses come and go in this street, but we are still here, plugging away. Most of our customers are locals who know where to find us without needing a map. We just take things one day at a time and hope for the best.
