About Kaur Damandeep Architect – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Ludhiana
I work out of Village- Khattran, which is under P.O. Bhagwan Pura in Samrala. My name is Damandeep and I handle the architecture side of things here. Being in a village means the pace is a little different than the big cities, which I actually prefer. My office isn't anything fancy, just a room where I can spread out my drawings and think. Most days involve visiting sites around Samrala or sitting here at the desk checking building codes. It’s a lot of technical stuff that people don't usually see. I grew up around here so I know how the weather and the land affect how we build. People stop by to chat about their houses or a new shed they want to put up. It’s informal. I don’t use a lot of big words or complicated software unless I absolutely have to. I just want to make sure things are built right so they last a long time. The commute isn't bad because I'm already here. Sometimes the internet is slow or a delivery takes an extra day to reach us in Khattran, but we manage. Architecture is just about solving problems, really. You have a piece of land and a need, and you try to bridge the gap between them. That’s what I do every day at my desk here. In Village- Khattran, word travels fast, so I have to make sure I do a good job. I spend a lot of time drinking tea with neighbors who are thinking about building something new. It’s a varied life.
