Kashish Telecom

Iqbal Ganj Road 5 is where you’ll find us, right in the thick of things. It’s a narrow stretch and it gets pretty crowded, especially in the evenings when everyone is heading home. Kashish Telecom has been sitting here for years. The shop isn't very large, so we have to be smart about where we put the boxes. I usually keep my tea on a small corner of the desk, hoping I don’t knock it over while reaching for a screwdriver. People come in with all kinds of problems. Some dropped their phone in water, others forgot their passwords. We do what we can. Learning most of this stuff happened by just doing it, trial and error mostly. The Iqbal Ganj area has its own vibe, very busy and a bit loud. You get used to the sounds of the market after a week or two. My chair squeaks every time I move, but I haven't gotten around to oiling it yet. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in the city. Just a place where you can get a SIM card or a new charger without too much fuss. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit there in the dark for a bit, chatting with whoever is in the shop. It’s a humble life. We see a lot of faces, some regular and some just passing through. Every day is different, which I guess is why I still like coming in every morning.
