If you head over to Village and Post Baridh Mandi near Mullanpur, you’ll find us at Goyal Rice & General Mills. We’ve been set up here for a while, dealing with whatever the season throws at us. Being near Mullanpur means we get a mix of local folks and people just passing through the mandi area. The mill is pretty much what you’d expect from a place that’s been working hard for years. It’s not polished or shiny, but the machines run most of the time. We handle rice and some other general milling tasks depending on what’s needed. The village life suits us fine, even if things move a bit slow sometimes. During the peak months, it gets incredibly busy and there is barely time to sit down for a meal. You can hear the hum of the mill from down the road. We spend our days talking to farmers and making sure the bags are stacked right. Sometimes the roof leaks or a belt breaks, and we just patch it up and keep going. It’s just how things are done at Baridh Mandi. We don’t have a big office or anything like that; we’re usually out on the floor or near the gate. It’s a lot of manual labor and keeping an eye on the grain quality. We’ve grown used to the rhythm of the mandi over the years. That’s just life in a place like this.
