You can find us over at Designex Architects, specifically at 41-J in Sarabha Nagar. It’s where Goel Sanjay Architect operates from. The office isn't very large, but it’s got enough room for the drawing boards and the computer stations we need. Sarabha Nagar is a nice place to be based; it has a certain character that you don't find everywhere else. My day usually starts with checking emails and then diving into whatever design is currently on the table. It’s a lot of back and forth with clients and making sure we aren't missing any details in the structural plans. The walls are mostly covered with old sketches and a few calendars that help us keep track of site visits. I spend a good chunk of my week out in the sun, looking at brickwork or talking to masons, so the office feels like a bit of a sanctuary when I get back. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that, so if the phone rings, one of us just picks it up. It’s a hands-on kind of environment. Sometimes the coffee runs out right when we need it most, and the printer likes to jam when we’re in a rush, but we manage. Working in 41-J has its quirks, like the way the light hits the back window in the afternoon. It’s a real place where real architecture happens, nothing more and nothing less.
