My shop is located over at the HIG Flats on Rani Jhansi Road. It’s not a big place, with just enough room for a glass counter and some stools for waiting customers. Mostly, I handle phone recharges and fixing cracked screens. In the evening, when people get home from work, the place can get a bit crowded. Cables and chargers hang all over the walls. Processing a payment can be annoying for everyone when the internet is running slow. Keeping the place tidy is a struggle because bits of wire and plastic packaging always end up on the floor. Messing around with gadgets was why I started this, but now it's just my daily routine. Seeing the same faces every week is nice. While working on their devices, we usually talk about the weather or the news. Afternoons are quiet, so that's when I eat my lunch and maybe listen to some music. Even though the sign is a bit faded from the sun, people know this is my spot. Advertising isn't something I do much of. Walking past is how most people find me. It's a steady life for me here. A logbook helps me keep all the repairs from getting mixed up. Whenever a repair takes longer than I thought, calling the customer to let them know is necessary. This is just how things go in this neighborhood. I usually stay open until the street lights come on. It works for me.
