You have to head up to the first floor at 46-B in Ludhiana Central to find Essarr Telecom. It’s tucked away a bit in an older building, so you have to look for the narrow stairs near the entrance. We've been in this specific spot for a good while. It’s mostly about mobile phones here. We do repairs, sell some second-hand handsets when we have them, and help people with their data connections. The lighting inside isn't the brightest you'll ever see, but we have some good desk lamps that we use for the delicate repair work. I work here with a couple of other guys who know their way around a circuit board. We aren't always the fastest in town because some jobs are trickier than they look, especially with the newer models that are glued shut. The building gets a bit hot in the summer months, but we have a couple of noisy fans going to keep the air moving. Customers usually sit on the wooden stools and wait while we take a look at their devices. We don't do any big advertising or posters. Word of mouth from people who have been here before is how most folks find us. It’s a steady kind of life. We see a lot of broken screens and batteries that won't hold a charge.
