Datta Enterprises

If you ever find yourself at Kohara A Cross in Byatarayanapura, you’ll see our spot. Datta Enterprises is right there where the roads meet. It’s a noisy corner, mostly because of the trucks and the bikes zooming past all day long. We have a small storefront that’s mostly filled with ledger books and samples. I spend a lot of my time just looking out the window between jobs. There is a small tree outside that gives a little shade in the afternoon, which is where I usually stand for a minute to get some air. The area has changed a lot since we first opened. There are more buildings now and less open space, but the spirit of the neighborhood is still the same. We don’t have a big staff. It’s usually just a couple of us managing the orders and talking to the people who drop by. We handle a bit of everything, whatever the local market is asking for at the time. Sometimes the rain floods the street a little, and we have to move the boxes further inside to keep things dry. It’s just part of being in this part of town. We don’t go in for fancy slogans or big promises. We just try to be there when someone needs something. It’s a bit of a grind sometimes, but seeing the same faces every week makes it feel like we belong here. The fan hums in the corner.
