Our shop is in Ghumar Mandi, specifically inside Laxmi Naryan Market at number 6. It is a specialized place where we focus on fixing phones, particularly those Sony Ericsson models that people still hold onto. It is a small space, mostly taken up by a long workbench covered in tiny screwdrivers, magnifying glasses, and soldering irons. We see a lot of people coming in with cracked screens or batteries that will not hold a charge anymore. It can be quite tedious work, staring at small circuits for hours, but it is what we are good at. The market outside is always bustling with shoppers, so there is a lot of noise drifting in through the door. We are not a big, shiny corporate service center. We are more of a local repair spot where you can talk directly to the person who is actually opening up your phone. Sometimes we have to tell people that a part is no longer available, which is the hard part of the job. We keep a lot of old phones in drawers just to use them for spare parts. It is a bit of a puzzle every day, trying to figure out why a device will not turn on. We have been in Laxmi Naryan Market for years and have built up a lot of regulars who bring their gadgets to us. It is just a steady job of fixing things one at a time. We stay focused on the work until the light fades.
